Editor of a handful of iconic documentaries, such as Chavela Vargas (Chavela. A Singer, A Fighter, A Symbol, 2017) and that of American judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG, 2018, Oscar nominated), Gutiérrez returned to Mexico in April to inaugurate the Sundance Film Festival CdMx 2024 with her first feature film as a director, Frida (2024), which premiered in the country this May 9, 2024 and which in January won the grand prize for Editing at the Sundance, in Utah.
